Anthill Farms Sonoma Coast ‘Campbell Ranch’ Vineyard Syrah 2016 Syrah

Updated: Nov 18, 2019

Electric Syrah...

Situated at 1,000ft. elevation & only a few miles from the Pacific Ocean, the ‘Campbell Ranch’ vineyard is planted on the famed Goldridge soils & produces low-yield, high acid, aromatic fruit from 20+ yr. old vines. Fermented with 60% whole cluster, the wine spends 18 months in used oak barrels, producing a truly classic cool climate Syrah. Tightly focused, it opens with high toned aromatics of violets, bright blueberry, cracked black pepper & savory umami notes that give the nose both a refined & rustic tone. The energetic palate reflects the nose, with sour cherry, more black pepper, aged meats & wonderful layers of finely-textured tannins produce a deliciously weighty, palate coating mouthfeel. The bright, fresh acid snaps it back into a tense balance & helps define the long and elegant finish. @anthillfarms @skurnikwines @anthony_filiberti #campbellranchvineyard #syrah
