Bodegas Barbadillo 15 Year Old Palo Cortado ‘Obispo Gascón’ Palomino

Updated: Nov 18, 2019

Drink Palo Cortado....

Aside from Manzanilla, Palo Cortado is Barbadillo’s other specialty & 'Obispo Gascón’ is the flagship Palo Cortado of the house. Originating from their Manzanilla 'Solear En Rama' Solera it ages for closer to 20yrs. than the stated 15 & is bottled from the 5th. Criadera of an 8 Criadera Solera dedicated to Palo Cortado.

It shows wonderful finesse & elegance for a predominantly oxidatively-aged wine, its profound aromatic complexity emits rich polished wood tones, along with soft dulce de leche, candied orange peel, toasted walnuts & raisins all giving an allusion of sweetness. On the dry palate the finesse persists, with dried orange peel interspersed with the sharp salinity & lemon zest tang of its Manzanilla origin’s. Then it hits the deeper rounded bass notes of chocolate toffee, caramelized hazelnuts & bitter inflections. Harmonious in all its various stages, this is a deliciously smooth & gorgeously lingering Palo Cortado. @bodegasbarbadillo @skurnikwines @enrama_nyc @sherrywinesjerez @sherrylovers @jerezxeressherry @jaimesherry #vinodejerez #sherry #palocortado #sherrylover #drinkmoresherry #sherrymakesyoulivelonger #jerez #vivajerez #sherrylife #enrama #underflor #venenciador #andalucía #españa
