Zeitgeist Trousseau Gris Fanucchi-Wood Road Vineyard Russian River Valley 2018

Trousseau Gris? Amazing...

A bespoke Trousseau Gris from uber talented wine making duo Jennifer Williams & Mark Porembski. Sourced from Fanucchi-Wood Road Vineyard in Russian River Valley, Sonoma the fruit is lightly pressed immediately upon arrival to the winery, enabling them to make a fresh style white & avoid bitterness. Fermented in a combo of stainless & neutral french oak, it does not undergo malo-lactic fermentation & it ages on the lees until February of the following year. Vibrant, fresh, balanced & essentially delicious, this shows a nose of lemon, pear & green melon. Melon, stone fruit & citrus rind are echoed on the fleshy, complex palate where it has a lovely mineral seam running throughout & the taut, linear finish snaps everything into perfect balance.

NOTE: Trousseau Gris, a native of the Jura region, is a true ‘grey’ grape that can make either white wines or slightly colored wines with some extended skin contact. PAIR WITH: Sautéed Ramps, garlic & a touch of dried hot chili with fresh pasta of your choice & a baby Arugula salad.
